Putting Out Fires: When to Fight or Flee

4. You are confident about your firefighting skills.

On the other hand, if one of the opposite situations is present, it would be smart to concentrate on getting out of the area and evacuating everyone else. If the fire is already large and spreading, the job of fighting should be left to the professionals.
